Dive into our latest blog to explore hydrogen’s rising influence in public transportation, the expansion of Ballard's production capacity in the U.S., the growth of the seven Regional Clean Hydrogen Hubs (H2Hubs), and much more!
North America is making significant progress in transitioning transit bus fleets to zero-emission (ZEB) alternatives. Recent data indicates a 12% increase in full-size transit ZEB fleets in the U.S., with a remarkable 76% growth in the number of fuel cell buses, which are now operating across 13 states. This upward trend in decarbonization highlights the crucial role hydrogen is playing in driving successful implementation.
Acknowledging this growth in emission-free transport numbers and aiming to harness its full potential to disrupt the landscape for public transit, the U.S. Government’s Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has awarded $1.5bn in bus grants to support nearly 120 projects that will improve public transportation in 47 states.
In our latest blog, we delve into the growing influence of hydrogen technology in public transit across the U.S., along with funding and industry initiatives that are powering a cleaner, more sustainable world.
Learn how Ballard is at the forefront of this revolution, expanding production capacity in the U.S., unpack developments of Regional Clean Hydrogen Hubs (H2Hubs) fueling the next generation of green transportation, and much more!
